Thumbs down custom fields return to default values when editing Tickets (Billing) - 25-07-2007, 07:15 PM

When working with Tickets, and editing them, my custom fields in the Billing tab keep returning to their default values. This does not happed for other custom fields (from User Registration, and User & Staff Submit Request) in the Edit tab.

I am not sure if I am doing something wrong, or if this is a bug. But since I am not able to submit bugs right now (see my other post from today), I figure that I ask this in "How do I" first.

Hi Pete,

I moved your thread our of the How Do I forum.

About your issue - see the screenshot here: http://jamie.kayako.org/screenshots/...4925070728.png this shows the Test field I added to the time tracking entry.

Now see this other screenshot, the entry form for a time tracking entry: http://jamie.kayako.org/screenshots/...5025070727.png - this shows the Default value for the field because nothing has been entered in it.

I tried editing a ticket and submitting, but the Test value in the previously submitted entry stayed the same.

Can you confirm that you are not confusing looking at the entry form as opposed to looking at a entered tracking item (the field in purple)?

To clarify, the system works as follows:

1) Click the billing tab.
2) Editable form fields shown for entry, including custom fields with their default field values, specified in the admincp.
3) Submit the entry
4) New purple field (as seen http://jamie.kayako.org/screenshots/...4925070728.png) shown on the top of the ticket under the General tab with the entry.

I could never get this to work right, but did not spend too much time on this one.

That's alright; I found a work-around for our specific situation.

Thanks,

PeteV.
