Custom registration fields do not display - 03-09-2007, 09:16 AM

I just had a customer point this out to me, and have confirmed it.

We have a custom group of fields setup for registration, these should show up under the users "my account" page.

But they do not show up for some people. All they get are the default fields.
But when they click the UPDATE button to save the default details "name and email", it then displays an error stating they have not completed required fields, and then it mysteriosly shows the custom fields.

We have just sent out a mass email asking customers to complete all the required fields, but it seems they may not see those fields so wont do anything.
This must be a bug surely, as how would any user know they have to click update first in order to cause an error and thus see the required fields.

How to add custom field to User SC - My Account is the bug you are refering to I think. As you can see it can be fixed by uploading one file from the latest CVS. build.

Have you tried logging in as the customer that is having problems to verify it?

it is not 1 customers, it is loads of customers.
We sent out an email asking them all to complete the "my account" fields, but no-one did it. When asked why, most of the have replied saying there were no fields to fill in.
When I told them to click update button, they then confirmed that they got an error about not gilling in those fields and they then magically appeared.

That is very weird then. Jamie will be back from his vacation tomorrow so he should be able to chase it up with Mahesh who implemented the fix.

It has now been confirmed as a bug, but I had to fight to prove it as they initially said this was how it is designed to work.
