I have the correct spanish version, but when I switch to it into the customer page, all the knowledgbase that we wrote before, appears with strange symbols. If I put it to portuguese, english or french appears normal, with correct writing.
What can be wrong?

Try closing all browser windows then clearing your browsers Cookies / Cache / History / ect depending on your browser. I have come across this before and that fixes it. It is actually a browser problem than a web-software-you-are-using one I am told.

Make sure the charset and iso code for spanish is correct. Seems like a language encoding issue.

This is the same for some features of the Suite and german letters even with the right ISO Code.

For example ö ä ü don't work in Mails or in the IRS Suggestions.

Basically I figured a little workaround.
I just used html char encode like ü ö ¿ etc. in the language sentences to make it work.

You should find a list of charsets and codes on google etc that matches your ISO Charset.

Hope that helps.

That is a great suggestion! 1 question though, will it work in text based emails as well?

Yes it does.

Just use those encodings in the language sentences and voila.

It's a matter of the parsing process the Suite supplies and seems to work very fine.
e.g. the code will be parsed by the email autoresponder template and there it is set right then.

No matter if you send text or html mails.

And if thats still not it, theres a variable in the language phrases called

charset

html_charset

text_charset
(Search phrase)

These will be set on importing the language.

If you have set your charsets wrong on install this wont be overwritten if you change the charset in the Manage Language tab.

VEEEEERY annoying and took me eons to find.

AND if that still does not help you, check if your server supports those language packs (even though UTF-8 should be sufficient)
