Cvs - 10-03-2006, 02:09 PM

Hi there

I downloaded the supportsuite.3.00.45.cvs.zendopen.tar.gz on the 8th and if I look now in the build list I see it having a timestamp from today. How is that possible? Isn't every change in CVS a new number?

BTW: what is the best way to use the CVS changes? Is there something like a cvs update routine like in cerberus (which was one of the few cool things in cerberus)

f0rd42,

Kayako does a nightly CVS build regardless of there being newly modified code.
Check the changelog tab of the members area to see if there are new modifications:

Cheers,

Hi Tommy

ahh, that makes sense. So I have the latest Version, but Why is my main.js still buggy? I still get all that JS Script errors in LR. I have IE6 installed.

At this moment in time I would not upgrade to .45 as there is a bug in the email parsing.

Varun is aware of the issue, just waiting on him fixing it and pushing the fix to CVS.

There is also an issue with the JS after the IE7 compatability was added, this has been fixed but not commited yet.

call me stupid, but what is the best (suggested) way to upgrade an installed system via CVS?

Hi,

I edit the config file each time I grab a copy as sometimes there are changes to the config file, uplaod all the new files then go to the setup folder and run the upgrade option.

Hi Neil

what do you mean by "edit the config file"?

I assume you copy it somewhere, download the whole new package, copy the upload folder to the /var/www/whatever and then copy the config.php back?

That's bad, as each and every change you've done to the originla files are lost then (e.g. the german umlaut problem), etc.

Hi,

Each time I download the latest copy I edit the new config file rather than copying the old one over as Kayako make changes in the config file from time to time - I know the database settings so only takes me a minute to edit the file.

If you are editing the files then changes you make will be lost, in this case you will need to re-apply the changes to the new files *IF* the change log in the members area shows a file you edited has been updated.
