Date format M/d/yyyy - 16-12-2005, 10:15 PM

When assigning tasks/tickets, the date format seems locked to dd/MM/yyyy. In the US, the standard is M/d/yyyy. How do I get ALL of my dates in this format? I don't want to see 16/12/2005 anywhere! I want to see 12/16/2005.

Yeah - was hoping the formatting of date output would do this but it does not. M/D/YY would be best or an option to change.

Or use the server date (Regional) settings. This is a huge issue! I'm not sure your largest market, but not having US format is quite eye opening!

That is extremely disappointing if Varun has not addressed this yet.
I made a big stink about this on the forum several weeks ago. Here is the link..

Support Suite won't be able to support American Date Formats. Not Good!

It was promised by Varun for 3.00.26. I haven't upgraded yet and was truly expecting this to be addressed by now.

Varun, if you are reading this... you really should consider taking care of this ASAP before moving on to bigger and better things. Your app is misleading users into thinking it can change Date formats, when it currently does not work .

This last post was in Dec of last year. Has anyone found a fix for this problem yet? We really need to be able to display the js calendar in US date format. Please advise.

Unfortunately no fix on making SupportSuite U.S. Date compatible.

There were excuses by Kayako on why they couldn't fix it, then promises that it could be fixed and would be available on the next release. There has been several releases since then and a year time has elapsed.

If I were a U.S. based company, I'd have to think twice now about buying Kayako SupportSuite (unless they want to get used to julian date formats).

They seem to have been correcting all sorts of international character problems in their product, and yet a simple data format compliance is beyond their scope.

Makes no sense when the U.S. is the biggest purchaser of software in the world.

problem with php - 31-07-2006, 07:26 PM

problem with the php date format code is the fact that it was europeans who created it. They don't allow the date to be switched inside their calendar code- beats me why the **** not- but they would need to implement something else to get it to work. Why couldn't php try to be more universal like asp.net? who knows.

So, does this mean that my Calendar in the staff view is going to continue to show 24 hour time format? I can't seem to get this time format in 12 hour US format.

Thanks,

Gino

us format - 10-08-2006, 09:35 PM

there isn't a "12 hour" us format, theres just a 12 hour format that is used sometime. I'm okay with military time (which alot of americans use) but it is a good point.
