Question Date format question - 05-08-2005, 10:34 PM

I changed the date format settings but when editing a ticket's due date, the format is still shown as the dd/mm/yyyy format rather than using the mm/dd settings defined in the Date & Time Settings. I tried clearing the cache but that didn't solve the problem.

It occurs to me that the Date & Time Settings never refer to a slashed date format. Is this a bug and the due date doesn't follow any of the editable settings? Or is there some template that I need to edit for this date to be displayed differently?

The areas where Javascript Calendar is used do not reflect the date time setting. That setting only applies to the areas where the date is actually displayed.

Varun, thanks for the reply. How can we change the Javascript Calendar date time display settings? I would expect that there would be a single datetime format preference in the application that affects the entire application. Otherwise, we can never trust the date displayed since it could be formatted as day/month or month/day.

Same Issue - 27-09-2005, 06:28 PM

I can see where the javascript method name needs to be changed when I "view source" but I've yet to find a way to modifiy this. There may be a smart tag somewhere but I haven't beeen able to decipher the templates well enough to know which template controls what and even if there is a place for me to make this modification.

I'm working on it. If I come up with a solution, I'll post it, although this should absolutely be tied to the date/time format settings, otherwise the settings are confusing. I would prefer they affect everything or not have the setting at all.

Anthony

Just to revisit this, in the hopes of a solution.
When selecting a due date with the popup calendar, it shows the month and date in the popup...but once submitted, it reverts to dd/mm/yy format.

Can this be made to follow the same settings in the application I have, IE: mm/dd/Y or mm/dd/yy? This should be something that can be configured from one switch, and be consistent throughout the application, otherwise it becomes very confusing. We never use European date styling if we can help it.

I noticed the first post on this ticket was done about a year ago. Has anyone figured out a way to change the European date to a US date format with the Javascript Calendar? I could not find a way to change the date format to mm/dd/yy in the code anywhere. Please advise.

Yeah, it can't be that hard to change the Javascript to match with the settings that have been chosen in the Admin panel....maybe it's time to hack the JS?

I think I am getting closer to how this works.

There is a form field opt-due which I used to searcth through the php files.

If you view the source you can see that there is an onclick which is asking for the data in d m Y.

Look in these files in modules/tickets
./staff_ticketactions.php
./staff_ajax.php
./staff_newticket.php
./staff_massreply.php
./staff_viewticket.php

I think also the main.js file is used in themes/admin_something/main.js

I emailed Varun maybe we can get this resolved.
