Daylight Savings not working - 10-04-2006, 09:57 PM

My settings are correct and yet I just entered a ticket at 5:08 EST and the time on the ticket is 4:08 EST.

How do I fix this?

Lisa

Yes, the settings are enabled under both.

Same here - DST not updated correctly. How can this be fixed? We've known about the change (2 weeks earlier than normal) here in the US for a while now; I mistakenly assumed that it'd be updated in the latest release of Kayako but it seems to not be (or it's something PHP related..)

I suspect our clocks will be off by an hour until we 'fall back' sometime towards the end of the year :-P

I hope not! I talked via livesupport and was asked to...submit a ticket to bugs@kayako.com. I've done that, so now begins the wait. I hope that we're not all waiting as long as I've been waiting for resolution on my other open ticket...

Our server time is correct and is synchronized with stratum 1 NTP servers providing time in UTC format (which means time zones and dst don't matter).

It's up to the consumer of the time information, PHP or Kayako, to present it properly.

What chelsel said. Time is fine on all our systems - it's Kayako (or less likely, PHP) that isn't handling it properly.

then did you checked in admin panel, setting, date and time ?
Time Zone :
for instance , east coast time is now GMT -4, not GMT -5

I think you misunderstand DST. For instance, I live in Chicago. We follow Central Time. During daylight savings, we are following "CDT" time (central daylight) and when outside of that time, we are "CST" (central standard)

We are always GMT -6, just with correction for DST/CST as appropriate by date.

Yes, but we're CDT now, thus, 11:08AM in your example. Point is, Kayako isn't interpreting time properly, so all tickets that come in are marked as being an hour old despite just arriving due to timestamping and whatever other logic is applied to tickets showing up via email, etc.

If you are referring to the time shown in the forums - the server hosting the forums is offset by 40 odd minutes

Time is just fine in India. =)

Give the kayako guys a break on this one. This is a US phenomenon and has been a real pain for us at my company.

Make sure your web server is set to the right time. Maybe a restart?

If you are on windows you can run a command from DOS: Net Time

That will tell you the time and the name of the server providing Net Time for your domain. You can then type NET TIME /SET if you want to correct it.

Patch your servrs with the MS patch as well.
