Hi Kropes,

Just upload the files under the /supportBeta folder and then install as you did the live version - as long as the main URL matches your key it will work ok.

Hi,

I think this should be fixed, I have a feeling it was related to the following bug:

#1369 — Content type errors on outgoing news mails (and possibly others)

That bug was affecting more than just the news emails.

Hi,

I upgaded from 3.00.32 CVS to 3.00.81 STABLE this evening and everything seemed to work nicely until I modified the 'arintro' language phrase. After that, autoresponses stopped being sent out!

I tried reverting the email_autoresponder template to the v .81 version and clearing the cache, but this did not help.

Any ideas about what to check to see why autoreponses are not being sent?

Cheers,

Tom

Hi Tom,
Double check for any malformed tags, Thats the only reason I can think of for it to not work.

Hi Varun,

Thanks for the quick reply! Here is some more information:

The first email I send in from an account (I am testing using accounts on three different services (e.g., gmail.com, etc.)) receives an autoresponse. Subsequent emails from the same account do not get autoresponses. I made sure to change the subject line and email body in each test, but this does not affect the outcome.

Update:

I found that autoresponses will be sent if 'Dont Send Autoresponder Message' option under Flood Protection is set to 'No':

AdminCP -> Settings -> Flood Protection -> Dont Send Autoresponder Message

This would seem to suggest something is amiss in the flood protection checking.

Cheers,

Tom

Hi Tom,

This will be due to the flood protection settings, this was added to the parser for new incoming tickets to prevent mail loops when setting up your helpdesk to not allow initial tickets via email.

The default time limit is set to 600 seconds, if a user emails twice within that time they will only receive the auto responder to the first email.

Ah Ha! Thanks for explaining this. My Timing Threshold (in Seconds) was set to the default installation value of 43200. I will tweek this value to something that will allow reasonably frequent posts from a user.

I guess I was thown off by the explanation in How Flood Protection Works?

Quote:
Whenever an incoming email is received, SupportSuite checks the Tickets table to see if the user created a ticket with the same subject in the given threshold time. If this check succeeds, Flood Protection gets triggered and the specified actions are carried out.
Since I was making sure to change the Subject line on each test, I figured that the Flood Protection would not be triggered. I now know better.

Thanks again!

Cheers,

Tom
