Documentation for dbCore class? - 18-05-2007, 06:55 PM

Okay, I'm writing some custom code, but can't find any documentation for the dbCore class. As well I did a search for it the code, but I think dbCore is in some of the compiled files so I can't read the code to see what functions and members it has.

Where can I look for documentation for this? Thanks.

Hi Justin,

There is no documentation for the dbCore class. It is indeed encrypted, and won't be unencrypted.

In Version 4 of the product, we will be using ADODB http://adodb.sourceforge.net for the database.

Is there some form of tutorial just explaining what each function does? Almost every LoginShare is done using that, so some documentaion or tutorial would be nice. I had to figure out the functions and such by just reading lines of code through the whole suite.

Hi Justin,

Within the next month a core API documentation will be released. I will ask the developers to ensure this is included too.

Hi, Jamie,

Any updates on the "Core API documentation" that would include documentation for dbCore?

I ask because I need to know whether/how to establish an SSL connection to a MySQL instance for a SharedLogin module. I need to do this either by specifying the SSL certificate authority as a parameter, or by pointing the MySQL stack to ~/.my.cnf (where all necessary parameters would be found.)

If dbCore does not support the configuration for SSL connections, are there any potential issues if I use the mysql stack directly?

Thanks,
Vlad.

After Mahesh (one of the developers) left at the start of this year, Kayako decided to wait to include the API in V4 instead for which there is no ETA.

V4 will use ADOdb which will mean you can find full documentation on their site.
