download items count - 06-11-2006, 09:58 PM

ive noticed that the parent category in the downloads area does not count the number of files within sub cats under it... it only counts the number of files directly under that parent category.

For example:

I have two parent categories in the downloads section... CAT1 & CAT2.

I have uploaded a file to CAT1. In the main download directory it displays CAT1 (1).

Now, for CAT2, I have two sub cats, CAT2A and CAT2B. Only CAT2B has files uploaded to it, 5 of them. On the main downloads page it shows CAT2 (0), and if you click CAT2 (0) you will see the two sub-cats, listed as so: CAT2A (0) and CAT2B (5).

How can I make it so the main download page shows CAT2 (5), which is representative of ALL the files uploaded to the parent category and ALL of its subcats?

Reason I need this changed is because I do not want users to think, when looking at the main DL page, that CAT2 has ZERO files in it.

Hi,
This is a known issue in the present build and it will be fixed in the upcoming build.

Let me know if there is anything else.

Regards,

Raghav Arora

For now I've removed the file count from being displayed in the download section. This is not the answer, but just a temporary solution.

Refer to this topic as a guideline of what to remove to stop the count numbers from being displayed.
