Question Duplicate Ticket and Replies - 15-02-2006, 03:36 PM

Hello,

I have recently switched to a DirectAdmin based server and am having the following problem:

Piping is setup and works fine apart from the fact that when a ticket or response is created, it is processed twice, so either two tickets will be created or two replies will be generated for the same ticket.

I've done a search on these boards and Varun has mentioned DirectAdmin in a similar post about this problem but there was no further response.

Hopefully someone can enlighten me.

Thanks,

James Maskell

The EXIM config file on your DirectAdmin server has two entries that are getting processed.

I'm not sure if it is the correct way to fix it, but here's how I got it to work. Find this block of code in /etc/exim.conf and put #'s in front of them to comment it out.

Code:
#virtual_aliases_nostar:
# driver = redirect
# allow_defer
# allow_fail
#  data = ${if exists{/etc/virtual/${domain}/aliases}{${lookup{$local_part}lsearch{/etc/virtual/${domain}/aliases}}}}
# file_transport = address_file
# group = mail
# pipe_transport = virtual_address_pipe
# retry_use_local_part
# unseen
# #include_domain = true
After doing that, only the "virtual_aliases" section will process the messages. I really don't know what the "virtual_aliases_nostar" section is for, but I have not run into anything that doesn't work without it...

This also worked for me, not sure what that "nostar" is but I'm sure if it broke something "else" I'll hear about it soon enough

The solutions to this problem is not to comment out code but rather to create an email address for the same forwarder.

If your forwarder piping address is support@domain.com

Then create and email address for support@domain.com

Duplicate messages go away!!
