Eliminating the "my account" widget - 24-09-2007, 09:57 AM

Hi guys!

We're developing a custom authentication plugin to work with our single signon authentication system. When that goes live, I would like to disable the "my account" screen once a user has logged in. My thought is to modify the index template in the different groups so that it doesn't display, but what do you see as the best way to do this?

Thanks,
L

That would be the best way. Just remove it out and then it won't show.

Bummer. I was sort of hoping that there would be a way to disable it and not just remove it from the view. We're in a situation where I fully plan to have malicious (and maliciously stupid) users, and I'm completely uncertain as to the effect of someone mucking with their, say, password from that page when we're offloading the authentication elsewhere.

Thanks for the info though, Craig!

Hmmm, follow-up - is the "my account" widget code editable somewhere? Might be handy to let it display the logged-in user, but not the links (I've already edited the linked pages to display errors)...

Cheers!

The code is inside General -> navbar. You can delete the links from in there.
