email_autoresponder not working ? - 20-12-2006, 06:25 PM

Hi,
I've cleared caches, am using the default templates, as well as previously working modified templates and all are working, ie staff alerts, staff replies to staff and customers, but for some reason if a customer emails support@mydomain.com the autoresponse email has stopped working.

I've check the diagnostics on the templates and there are no errors showing, and as I say I've checked it with the default templates from 3.4.10 version.

Has anyone got an idea as to something I've missed?

Try switching to SMTP under -- Admin CP > Settings > CPU Optimization & Server Settings > SMTP Settings

If it yet does not work, I suggest you get your templates re-checked. HTH

The confusing part was that all other emails were going out.

I eventually disabled flood protection and got it to work. Even though I was using the same registered email address to test the system I thought flood protection was only triggered if the subject of the email was the same. Not so apparently.

Finished testing....put flood protection on again.

However, now I'm concerned that if a customer raises an issue and decides to raise another separate issue within the flood protection time limit, that the email_autoresponder won't activate a reply to them.

You get one thing sorted and another problem appears. When will the world ever be perfect and everything run smooth?
