Error during first step of setup.php! - 03-08-2006, 05:32 PM

Please help! I'm so close to being done I can taste it!

As soon as I run the setup PHP, it begins showing me the license agreement, but then the following error occurs:
Code:
PHP Parse error: parse error, unexpected '}' in c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\support\setup\includes\footer.php on line 118
I can't accept the agreement to continue with the install since the footer doesn't appear! I've even located that '}' in question, but it only produced another error (unexpected $end).

Someone PLEASE help! I can't wait several weaks for the tech support people to return my help requests!

Are you running a CVS build or the latest build? I dotn know much about deploying this on IIS but I would make sure the file exist and have the right permisssions.

I have tried both, exact same error. The permissions for the IUSR_SERVERNAME account are set properly in both the local security and the IIS security.

Yes, the file exists because it is reading the file and then reaches an error in the code. As my OP said, I even "fixed" the extra '}' only to get another error (unexpected $end). I reverted back to the original file so as not to cause a compounded issue.

I had no problems setting up PHP, Zend, MySQL, phpMyAdmin, or anything else. Once this stupid error is fixed, we'll be up and running! HELP!

Kayako Support advised me to downgrade from PHP4 to PHP5. After a few minor groans from MySQL (let's just say thank God for Google), my Help Desk is now 98% operational.

...the last 2% is currently another submitted ticket with Kayako.
