Error: You Don't have Permissions to access this - 13-05-2008, 04:57 PM

I am working with a client who gets an the "ERROR: you don't have permissions to access this" prompt every single time they click on anything and then it boots them out. If they try and re-enter the info to log back in it just keeps bringing up the same error. I checked the forum here and someone else has had the same issue but there was no answer to the problem. The client is accessing our site from a terminal server using IE 6.0.3790.3950 (which I also have but have no errors accessing it). The chat support here told me to have the client download Firefox to fix it but that completely unacceptable answer. I deperatley need help for this issue. The user's broswer CAN accept cookies. The only way we can go anywhere in the site on his machine is if we trash the temp internet files before we go the the next page each time. I tried to restore broswer defaults but to no avail. Their IT dept also has unblocked the site so I am at a complete loss for what the issue could possibly be. Any ideas or fixes?

Is this issue restricted to a single client or your other clients too experience the same issue?

It is unique to this one user. Even when I use my own log in on his machine the error happens. If I use my same log in on my machine using my connection it works just fine.

I had the same problem... I was testing and my user got associated to a spcific template group. Under the settings for tempate groups I made sure the "Restrict Users Group" was set to no. This solved it for me.

Yeah that should work if you are using multiple template groups.

The only issue is that when I log in myself using my ID on his machine I get the same issue, but when I do it on mine I have no problems at all. It leads me to suspect it is some browser or internet setting with his particular machine or connection. I am really looking for what browers settings must be enabled besides just cookies?

The setting suggested, sets a cookie in the client side browser. Did you try changing it?

Tried it but still has the same issue. I re did some of his browser settings, like set it to empty the temp files every time it closes and it helps a bit, like he can click around in there for a couple of minutes before he gets kicked out. It's almost like his network allows the activity for a few minutes then decides the site it bad and boots him...
