eSupport/X-Cart integration - 22-07-2008, 04:08 PM

I apologize for starting a new thread on this, but I'm hoping to get the latest greatest in one place, rather than guessing which of the existing x-cart integration threads is the best place to go.

Here's what I want:

Total X-Cart/Kayako integration, which to me means (at least):
* login share
* auto login (I have a modified loginshare script which does this)
* email tickets get handled the "right" way (what happens if the user doesn't have an account in X-Cart?) Is it better to do only web-based tickets?
* no Kayako registration links (or replace them with X-Cart registration links)

I'm probably forgetting something, as I'm very new to Kayako.

Is the above realistic? Am I just better off having two separate systems, and not attempting integration? I don't mind that, necessarily, as long as it's solid. And I know that integrating with any other system raises the chance of problems in the future (when Kayako or X-Cart upgrade next, as with the recent vBulletin 3.7 upgrade affecting Kayako).

Thanks for your input.

- Stefan

LoginShare only allows the user to login with the same details. It was never designed to share the session or anything like that.

Thanks, Craig.

I did work out session sharing with X-Cart. I'm just concerned that account details will drift. Surely someone has solved this problem for some other system. (Not necessarily X-Cart, but another cart, or forum platform, etc.)

?

Thanks,
Stefan

Viper Cart (a piece of software we (my company - Craig Brass Systems) now have 4 developers working on) *will* solve this *winks*

Below is some screenshots for you to drewl over :-

This isn't framed or hacked together using Kayako's template engine and connecting in the back door either. It uses Integration API [FREE - EXTERNAL LINK] which we also built.

Should be ready in another 2-3 months with a beta out a bit sooner.

By the way, the design is just a basic one knocked up by the designer. It will be off to a designer shortly with a nice design added to it. Also, the product database is that of http://www.itselixir.com in case your wondering. We will launch the software on that site in the next month or so to get it tested in a live environment to iron our anything I missed when testing internally.

Finally, when the customer updates his / her email address, it calls Kayako and updates the details in real time so no chance of any data being wrong in either system. Name only updates on new tickets though but I imagine that is how it should work.
