Favicon - 25-01-2006, 08:27 PM

I am trying to put our company favicon.ico to replace the one of Kayako. After I upload my favicon.ico to the root directory, in where index.php and swift.php are, to replace the original one, the icon for Kayako is still in the beginning of our domain name. Is there any body can help me for this problem? Thanks in advance.

Clearing your Internet cache will surely do the job.

greetings,

you need to go into every kayako directory and replace the favicon that they have in each folder.

it may be a pain, but hey it's just a few minutes of work. Plus, the end result is your beautiful icon for everyone to see... like our website! L@@K!

I would like to change the Favicon in the Hosted edition of eSupport. Does anyone knows how to do it?

Thanks in advance,

You can do this by editing the header template and adding a link under the head tag for your favicon

I replaced all the favicon.ico's with my logo but whenever I open up my support centre, staff CP, or admin CP I still see the Kayako logo next to the page name at the top (also in the tabs for IE7 and next to the domain name in the address box). Any idea why or what I'm missing? What other files do I have to change in order to get my logo there?

Maybe the old favicon is being cached? Try clearing your browser cache.

Jamie - How about a manual or special section devoted to items just like this - Maybe a section called - Personalizing Support Suite - where you can dump step by step instructions for how to customize these types of items..

I think it would save your staff alot of trouble... and it should not hurt any aftermarket people here doing these mods as people that would read how to do it will rarely actually do it unless they posses the skills..

I tried that already and it didn't work. Any other ideas?

Hi Brent,

Thanks for the suggestion - and absolutely, this is in the planning.

I just reset the cache again but the support suite icon still shows up in the tabs. What else could it be? I replaced all favicon.ico files with my own favicon.ico logo. Is there another file that I'm missing?

Should I open a support ticket for this?

You cleared your browser's cache and it's still showing? You need to remove all cached files, and even then favicons are not foolproof. I've had some that worked fine for weeks suddenly fail to show or used a completley different one. Opening a ticket won't do anything as it's a browser issue, not a Kayako issue.
