Google Apps as SMTP server - 15-06-2009, 02:59 PM

We use Google Apps to manage our domains and I have successfly configured Kayako to fetch email using pop3-SSL. I am now trying to configure Kayako to use Google Apps (gmail) as the SMTP server and cannot get it to send any email!

Here are my settings in Kayako

SMTP Host: tls://smtp.gmail.com
Use SMTP Authentication: YES
SMTP Port: 587
SMTP Username: support@mydomain.com

Am I missing something here? any idea why this is not working?

thanks.

D.

Try it without the leading "tls://". That should work.

Overrides not working - 16-06-2009, 07:45 AM

Spoke too soon...

While i am now able to send email using Google Apps (gmail) SMTP server, I am NOT able to to use the Queue Override "From Email" in Manage E-mail Queues.

Google Apps allows you to Alias multiple domains to your one primary inbox, thus you can send AND recieve from me@primarydomain.com in addition to me@domain2.com.

Instead of using the From Email Override I have specified (eg. me@domain2) , it reverts to whatever the SMTP login details were (lme@primarydomain.com)

anyone have any ideas?
