has the database structure changed? - 14-06-2008, 07:50 PM

Hi there,
i have an old version 3.11.00 running on an old server, which i now want to replace with my new helpdesk. I just wanna import the user tables, did they changed the structure from 3.11.00 to 3.20.02 or is it still the same and i can import the sql tables without any problems?

thanks in advance

Hi FrightFactor

If you want to change the server, you should first backup your current database and restore it to the new server. Then try to get 3.11.00 running again. If you succeed (you should have no problems) upgrade to 3.20.02. The upgrade is quite straightforward and works perfectly. You don't have to mess with the database structure in this procedure (other than regular backup/restore procedures).

Best regards,

Sergio Aguayo

There were a few database changes between these versions but the upgrade tool will simply make the changes on your database when you upgrade (/setup/ -> Upgrade after uploading files) without anything being lost.
