| Helpdesk on server requiring authentication -

I am in the process of setting up the helpdesk on a windows server running IIS requiring authentication. Other than a few small hitches all has went fairly well, that is, until now. I find that all of the support applications (liveresponse) for example connect straight to the web server and read the php pages directly...
There in lies the problem; because the server requires authentication, the application hits it and gets a access denied page and can not continue...
There must be a simple way to allow it in but I can't think of one, figured others here have had similar problems and hopefully a solution.
