Exclamation Hitting Back Space on Live Chat... - 31-08-2009, 05:26 AM

Hi Kayako,

We have a slight problem , when our clients join a live chat and they hit back space it exits the chat and refreshing making them rejoin.

Any fix for this ?

Is it happening for ALL clients or just some? What browser are they using?

I am not sure if it's all clients as I will only know if they hit backspace but I can tell you alot of it happens too. I know for a fact it happens with Safari but also could be with other browsers.

I suppose you could tell them to stop being Apple Fanboys

Anyway, if you can nail down it to being a browser or something more specific, that would help. I'll test it on the test Mac I have at the office when I am in tomorrow, though.

It happens when you click in the chat area, anywhere outside of the text box. Backspace = the back button = go back one page = re-join chat.

Oh. There is nothing you can do about that. It is standard browser behaviour.

That's actually very reparable.

Please open a support ticket, so that it gets back to the developer staff.

Nah it isn't a standard browser behaviour as it only happens in safari.

Also is there any quick fix you guys can put out ?

weird cause I've had this problem in IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera, Chrome and on a bunch of sites ill go to click a form field and hit the backspace to delete something in this field but didn't actually click on the field and next thing you know I am on the previous page...

So don't think really this has anything to do with Kayako.

Yes it does and it seems it's an issue with google chrome. Was this fixed in 3.7 ?

Derek,

Did you open a support ticket? I was never able to find it.
