How can i setup e-mail parser(POP3), I installed eSupport on web hosting. - 28-09-2006, 08:25 AM

Hi everybody,
I have installed the eSupport successfully on my Web Hosting, i do not have a server in my office.
But i do not know how to setup an e-mail parser (POP3) for the database.
From the manuel, it tell me that i have to enter some commend for the setting, but i do not where these commend i should enter to. Can i use MyPHPadmin to do that? if not, how can i do that?

Here is the detail of our web host:

Operating System: Linux
Kernal: Version 2.4.21-4.0.1 elsmp
Web Server: Apache 1.3

Web Programming Languages
PHP 4.3.11
Tomcat (Java) 5.0.27
CGI / Perl 5.8
Python 2.2
Frontpage 5.0.2.5012

Databases: MySQL 4.0.24

I am a newby on MySQL, and PHP etc...... but i really need it for my company. Is anybody kindy help me?
Thank you very much

Setting up of email parser is for the email handlers and has nothing to do with the database. All you need to do is set up POP3 accounts in your software and make sure your PHP is compiled with IMAP support. You can confirm this by running the phpinfo file on your server.

Download manual from http://manual.kayako.net/manual.pdf.

You need to open php.ini file and uncomment (Remove ";") ";extension=php_imap.dll" this line.

Then go to AdminCP > Mail Parser and create new Email queue. You need to give all POP3 login details there.

Go to AdminCP > Settings > CPU Optimization & Server Settings and enter all the SMTP Settings details.

Scheduling part you refer to manual, they have described in detail.

If you follow all the above steps then the email parser should work correctly.

Hi,

If you don't have control of your server and are on a shared account with your web host you would need to request the recompile PHP with IMAP support.

I can find php.ini from the main folder of the ftp, but i'm not sure if it is the right one. I open this php.ini by wordpad, but cannot found any "extension=php_imap.dll".

Any advice? Thank you very much.

You need root access to comile PHP with anything. Your host should be willing and able to do this for you, and if not, you should be seekig a new host.

They refused to do this for me, as i'm using a share hosting.
But i switched my hosting from their Linus to Windows.
So, i just need to open php.ini file and uncomment (Remove ";") ";extension=php_imap.dll"
Am i right?
