How to combine users with multiple registrations? - 26-02-2007, 10:48 PM

I have a number of users who have registered more than once, some with the same email, and have posted tickets. Is there a way to combine them so they are listed only once on the user list?

Thanks

You will have to manually change the email address of the tickets, changing it to the email address under which you wish to merge them into.

Merging Users Takes Way Too Long - 09-03-2007, 11:25 PM

Hi all,

As great as the Kayako system already is, solving this "one user - multiple e-mail addresses" problem seems like a pretty easy, and very valuable fix for Kayako to make.

This is the one significant inefficiency I know of in the system but unfortunately, it is very significant, especially when you have to manually change the e-mail address for someone who has 10-20 (or more) tickets.

Kayako, are you listening? We really like your system but would like to see this inefficiency eliminated.

Thumbs up Merged User - 06-04-2007, 01:56 PM

I agree. A Merge User feature similar to the merge tickets feature would be invaluable.

It would need to retain all email addresses so that if the user sent a ticket from any of thier email addresses, it would be listed under the merged account.

Same here. Being able to create a single "group" from all the email addresses a client uses would be very helpful. Well, that and a way to "split" off a ticket that has grown too long, but there doesn't seem to be any interest in that.

I've finally gotten around to cleaning up my user list by following supportkins' instruction. It seems to work fine; I didn't lose any tickets. At first the added tickets did not display on the Tickets Report tab of the destination user, but it eventually showed up in the proper place. This process is incredibly tedious however and only worth the effort if you are concerned about duplicate users.

Yea, I agree an easier way of doing it needs to be put in place...

Posting this in the Feature Requests board would be a good idea.
