Question How to create XML file from Excel for V3.10.02 - EN - ES - ZH - ZT - PT - 20-07-2007, 04:26 PM

I exported the EN-US language pack and had it professionally translated into Spanish-Mexico, Portuguese-Brazil, Chinese-Simplified and Chinese-Traditional.

It is in an Excel spreadsheet with the English text in column A the ES in column B and so on.

What is the best and or easiest way to get this into an XML file that will import successfully into SupportSuite V 3.10.02?

I will gladly give these translations to anyone, actually the whole community, if someone can help me get these things into a proper XML file for import.

Thanks

Joe

<phrase section="knowledgebase" code="articles">Articles</phrase>
We're missing the section and the code

We can still try to get the code and section back by matchin the CDATA from the english column.
Send me the excel i'll try to do it using KETTLE

The Chinese should use UTF-8.

Thanks for the help on the Spanish and Portuguese. I'll take a look at them soon and get them posted when they are working.

Ha ha! Guess what... i had forgotten to set UTF-8 in the last step (put content to file)

I got them all working (and the esp and port were not in UTF-8, here comes the updated ones)

Greetings,
Antoine

I exported the English language pack and then hand translated every line into Portuguese.

It still won't import.

Here is EXACTLY what I am doing and seeing along with the file.

Language>Import

Browse to the xml file - It's on my Desktop in this case.
Merge with: -- Create New Language --
Ignore Version: No
Click Import XML

I get a message that Language "" has been imported succesfully. However, it has not.

The XML file is attached. What is up?

I have 4 other languages to do this with and I will submit them all, for free, to these forums.

I am guessing the error is in here:

<swiftlanguage>

Portuguese (BR)

<isocode>pt-br</isocode>

<charset>UTF-8</charset>
<textdirection>LTR</textdirection>
<version>3.10.02</version>
