Question How Do I: share a custom field between User Ticket Creation and Staff Ticket Creation - 25-07-2006, 11:07 PM

How Do I: share a custom field between User Ticket Creation and Staff Ticket Creation?

It doesn't make sense to keep these fields separated, no matter who creates the ticket, there are fields that would need to be created no matter what (product, category, etc).

Has anyone found a way to do this?

Not thatI've found. This is a major shortcoming. There's also no way to tie custom field to multiple departments.....it's either one or all. There are bugs logged for these to be resolved.

Can Kayako comment as to when these are likely to be resolved?

mhunt I have to disagree with your one statement you can assign it to multiple departments... When you go to Admin CP > Custom Field > Insert Group and choose like User Ticket Creation it will then show all your departments and you check whichever ones you want it to apply too.. Its not one or all...

I'd like to have this facility too, at the moment I have to manually add customs fileds to each ticket if it's generated internally.
