| How SMTP works in Kayako because.... -

Hello,
I am wondering if someone can tell me how the Kayako system works for sending out emails if we have specified an SMTP server in the admin settings and use it instead of the PHP mail function. Here is why.
We just completed a server move and changed the IP addresses of all of our hardware. Well, for a few days we forgot that we had entered an IP address for outbound SMTP email messages in the admin settings and just caught it and set it to our new mail server IP address. So, for several days now we have been replying back to customers and I am pretty sure they never got it because esupport would not have been able to connect to a server IP address that didn't exist any longer.
So, did we lose those messages forever? Does Kayako queue them until it can make a successful connection? Do I need to find every ticket we sent in the past few days and send them out again?? Thanks for your help!!! |
