Hi, I was under the assumption this has been fixed, I will be checking on this tommorrow if I come to office. At most you should expect a fix by Monday along with the committ of MB integration. Regards, Varun Shoor -------------------------------------------------------------------

Varun.. I am just curious as to who sets priorities for your development and how these decisions are made. I have spent all my life in software development and to me it seems like a functional bug should take priority to adding new features. One can only imagine how many new bugs will be introduced with the new functionality considering the quality control prior to release. Kayako is well aware of a ton of bugs in the current release. Ranging from double emails to IE 7 issues to editors to .. list goes on and on. A search on this forum will give you a full list. How can a new feature be added when the system has so many bugs? Seeing your comment about MB integration and having seen your inquiry a while back about what we think about that integration makes me really wonder.. you stated that since this integration is done you can now concentrate on fixing this bug.. which tells me others are not working on the bug and instead of fixing the issue you are adding new features. Am I totally losing it here? Regards, Kami |

I want to commend you on your post. It is probably one of the most valuable and important posts on this forum. As a software developer and owner of a software company myself, I could not agree more with your statement. I hope Kayako (Varun) can take this to heart and maybe make a course correction to learn from your advice. I sincerely think it is time for a "Kayako bug fest" as some companies call it where they beat the software up to identify any and all bugs then fix them. The bug tracker, IMHO, has become useless as it has so many bugs that the developers have probably become immune to it. There are too many bugs now to decipher what needs to be done, so instead, they work on new things! This does amaze me as Kayako has become a popular and widely used product. This can lead a company to believing that "well, it must be working fine if so many people are using it." This is a false sense of security and a poor attitude towards a commitment to delivering quality software to the customers. I do save a lot of time with the use of Kayako, but have to tell my staff "yes, it has a lot of bugs, but it is better than what we had before." This is sad I have to pacify my staff this way, I can only hope Kayako will become an efficient and reliable product in the future. | |

NC Software, This has been been bugging me for a while (no pun intended). I work in software development as well and you ALWAYS fix the critical/high priority bugs you have before even thinking about implementing new functionality - otherwise you risk bugs affecting the new functionality. Also, what tends to happen is that the bugs are simply forgotten in the rush to get new functionality out. So a customer has a nice new flashy front end, with loads of bugs they've already reported! Using 3.00.27 |

I knew I couldn't be the only one thinking this.. There are currently 152 bugs listed as Critical in the bug tracker. 152!!! And you are adding new functions??? How about fixing some of the existing problems? Should be working night and day to get that bug list down to a reasonable level. |
