Import tickets from another system - 09-11-2007, 02:34 PM

I see they have import feature for a few other helpdesks, but is there any import process/documentation for other systems?

We have a in house solution and want to try and move all those tickets over.

Any ideas, thoughts?

TIA,
Act1v

Hi Ac1v,

The best you can do is ask for advice in the Developers forum. Depending on your database schema, it shouldn't be that much of a hard task for a programmer to write an import script.

Take a look inside /setup/impex/. You just need to take one of those as a base and modify it.

Prospective user here ... I take it that craigbrass's comment means that the import scripts come with the normal software installation?

http://www.craigbrass.net/personal/i...408-201225.jpg is the list of import scripts that come with Kayako. You can use these to develop your own if what you want to import from is not listed.

One more random question: Do the import scripts have a way to import our existing user catalog, so none of our existing users need to go through the registration process? We'd like this to be as seamless for our existing users as it can be...

Thanks in advance

You would need to create an impex script (see /setup/impex/) as one currently does not exist.
