Importing KB and tickets from other installations - 25-04-2008, 12:01 AM

We're in the middle of moving our kayako install from one server/domain (A) to another (B).

First we moved it to the new server (B) and got the key for the new domain name so we could get it up and running. We've also been adding knowledgebase articles to the new install.

While working on server B we've been answering tickets like normal on server A. Now that it's time to move the whole kit and kaboodle over, I dont want to overwrite the changes I've made... so I either want to move the server A database over, then import the knowledge base articles from server B or the other way around.

So my question is... what database tables would be involved to JUST move the tickets or JUST move the knowledgebase?

Well first thing to to is to make sure the Ticket and Knowledge Base modules are installed on both servers. If the tabs are listed in the ACP, assume they are.

Also, make sure both are running the same version.

Next, take backups of both databases.

Finally, go into phpMyAdmin for the install you want to copy from and go export. Either export all tables starting with swkb or swticket. Select "Add DROP TABLE" and save the file. Then, go into the other install's database and import in.
