Question Joomla integration - 16-11-2005, 10:36 PM

Version 3 is a nice step up from version 2. But it doesn't make sense to me why one would include user/password authentication, and not include the option to password the user panel. Especially when the function has already been hacked out for the staff and admin panels. At least its not blatantly obvious to me where one would set this. I think some people would like everything kept 100% private from the rest of the internet.

The biggest problem with a purchased package is the inability to incorporate this product into a CMS. Yes I am well aware of the inclusion of code into the header and footer of the template. That however doesn't give me the desired effect of the CMS. Single sign on I can see is pretty much out of the question. In its most complicated form you would have the user login to the CMS, login to keep the kayako folder private, then finally kayako itself. Even though all these logins are processed by Active Directory, its enough to piss even someone like me off. I don't even want to know what the users are thinking during all this logging in.

We don't ask too much out of Kayako, hell we loved what ver 2 could do. We really don't mind paying for a program we only utilize 10% of either. But it would be nice to get some extras like this after your done putting in the kitchen sink. I would do it myself but to do all that work and hit a wall because of a compiled file....uhh no.

I have sent a Joomla LoginShare I had made to Varun. Should be included in the next build. Enjoy.

Question then.
Is it single sign logon, meaning once you are loged into Joomla you do not have to re-login to kayako ?

I have done a translation of Kayako into Danish from the demo version, but when it came to Joomla integration, I realized that the Joomla sourcecode file where encrypted.

So please tell me that single sign on is possible in joomla and Kayako. Other wise I may have to offer you to develop this, because it is really important.

When using Joomla loginshare, after user has logged in to eSupport, it doesn't show "My Account" and "Change Password" options. Why is that?

I'm using eSupport v3.00.90.

This is because it is Joomla's job to be able to change the password from then on. eSupport only verifies their credentials, it does not manage their account.

Its really cool . Joomla sometimes exploits due to insecure permissions . Will it affect support suite ? Bit confused here .

I'm trying very hard to find some information about how I can make sure that my Support Center is not openly accessible to the entire internet. We are on the HOSTED version.

We are posting a link to the Support Center from within our already secure Content Management System. I know I can password protect the entire site...but then my users have to log-in again and I have to find a way to give them the password that I have set-up for the site.

I have tried passing the password automatically but it does not work at all.

Would using a Joomla log-in page that we could pass a password to solve this? Or has anyone been able to solve this issue?
