Joomla LoginShare - 27-08-2006, 08:25 PM

Is there any documentation around for how-to integrate kayako with joomla login share?

Does kayako need to be installed into the same database as joomla in order for this to work?

Also how is the joomla user going to be automatically logged into kayako if username/password going to be different - kayako asks for email/password on login.

Can someone point me in the right direction for login share and any necessary templates changes to kayako required for joomla integration? thanks.

Anybody get this work?

I also enabled the selection of joomla login share in the template group manager, however using an existing joomla login doesn't get me logged into kayako. However, the Register icon disappears.

On enabling loginshare with Joomla the Register icon will no longer appear. Your clients will not get logged into the support desk automatically even if they are logged into Joomla. They will have to manually login using the same login info (provided you have set the loginshare correctly). You can install Joomla and Kayako on the same database but it is rather recommended you install them on different database. Hope this helps

Thanks for the clarification. I was hoping that the loginshare was actually going to do a login share where they'd be automatically logged into kayako support if they were logged into Joomla. (Well at least that's what i thought the concept of Single-sign-on was supposed to take us)

I guess that is too much to ask for now.

Hi,
This currently only works with ModernBill integration. LoginShare is a feature in the software which allows you to share your existing database with the helpdesk.

This requires you to edit the software source code file. If you can do that then sky is the limit

I thought that this LoginShare would be like If an user i logged in Joomla is automatically logged in SupportSuite. I've just enabled it in settings and register icon isn't no longer visible.
Is there any way to set it like this: if a user is logged in Joomla is automatically logged in Supportsuite? Thx

No, your client will have to re-login. LoginShare feature of Kayako enables your clients to use their existing login information in Kayako. Login sessions between 2 applications are not shared with the integrated application (except ModernBill and WHCMS).

If you enable LoginShare, the Register icon will disappear and user management system of the integrated application is used.

You can do so by editing the software source code.

Softair has a mod that takes care of the single-sign on.

Hi, Thx for your help and suggestions.

Hmmm I have a problem, now everything is set as it should be login share is enabled database information etc. but if you use my Joomla username and pass I'm not able to login. It says "Invalid Username or Password" I've checked in both databases form Joomla and Kayako there is a user with my user name and pass, but getting that report. It looks like support suite can't read Joomla data base, and since login share is enabled Kayako automatically reads the Joolma database.

Any idea where is the problem?

What versions of both Kayako and Joomla are you running?
