Just Installed But Not enforcing Registration? - 16-04-2008, 11:37 PM

New to esupport.. installed it today

But I notice I can submit a ticket WITHOUT having to register

I thought people have to register and create an account before they can submit a ticket and track it?

ACtually quick update..

They can submit one but the email that goes out to them giving them the url to track it.. cant be viewed it says

Under staff cp--> click on users and then manage groups. Under the guest group, remove the "can submit ticket" widget. Now users have to register to submit tickets.

thank you but... Do you think its wise to do that?

like is it possible for them to submit tickets without creating account and view/track tickets without creating an account?

You just asked how to do it so I told you how to do it and yes it is wise. If you don't want users to submit a ticket without registering then this is what you have to do...thats how I have it set up.

You can also disable all the other ticket widgets and settings for guest users so that guests must login first to do anything regarding tickets.

K.. I appreciate that .. that is one option

The other option I am considering is to leave it as it is.. Let them submit without registering BUT problem is .... it then doesnt let them VIEW the ticket they have just submit

even though it says in mine " Can View Submit Ticket Widget " Yes

Doesnt that mean they should be able to view the ticket they have submitted without having to create an account?

Under the admin CP-->settings there is a setting somewhere to allow registration via ticket submission or automatic registration...unfortunately I don't use that option so I can't give more specific directions but you probably have to enable that option for it to work.
