After clearing out hundreds of comment spams (again), I find I have no need for unregistered users making comments on KB articles, downloads or anything else, for that matter. I don't see any way of removing the comment function that doesn't require numerous file edits.

Is there a simple way to disable the user comment system (some form of toggle on or off would be terrific), either just for non registered users, or if not, all visitors? (Support Suite 3.04.10) If there is, I'm not finding it.
Anyone?

You could do it in the template.

Code:
<{if $_USER[loggedin] == true}>
Show the comment form..
<{/if}>

Or you can edit the templates to remove the comments section as we have done for our helpdesk.

Deleting commenting section - 03-03-2007, 10:12 PM

Hi All,

I have emptied commenting section under General templates and commenting is not possible to do anymore, like I wanted. Still same old spammers comments go thru, how I can block them?

Thanks.

Br,
J-M
