Latest CVS. The matter is still not fixed. 060927

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? Can you download an earlier release and upgrade?

Please fix this asap so we can test new functions before upgrading our live-installation.

If you grab an earlier version it will bark at you that the version flag in the DB doesnt match. Best to wait for Varun or whoever to post a notice it is fixed.

Unfortunately there are a number of issues that appear not be of high importance. The biggest problem is this product is a very critical product in a company's interaction with its clients.. as such it can be considered as important as the web site itself.

In our company we place a great deal of trust in this product since it is our first line of communication with our clients and new inquiries. If it fails it can truly mean opportunity loss. When support suite fails customers consider it a failure on our part.

Kayako should take this simple value we place on their product quite seriously and realize when they fail we fail.. while they may or may not take the failure too seriously we take it quite seriously.

IE 7 issue has been around for a long time. Microsoft releases the beta so companies such as Kayako can adjust their software prior to the product going gold and released. IE 7 is now in RC 1 release meaning it is as close to release as it gets. When IE 7 was in beta (first release) we downloaded it and tested all of our interfaces with it to make sure it works. We had to make a few adjustments when the relase was only being tested by geeks and developers.. we are now fine and have no issues. The fixes we made to make sure IE 7 compatability did not take much time and all is fine now with the RC 1 .. we test all of our software with beta software of all browsers.. looking at our log files if we find a browser used that we have not tested with we simply download it and get in their beta program.. It is our responsibility to our clients.

Kayako on the other hand stated early on that they will fix the problem once it goes gold. A policy that is totally unacceptable if you consider the current situation we are all in.

If one looks through this forum one can easily see the first incident of reporting IE 7 problem. It was way before RC release. We have upgraded our release and used every CVS release hoping it is fixed and none appear to work.. the 2.0 release naturally has the key problem and we can not test to see if it works or not.

If one also looks at the bottom of this page one can easily see, without much investigation, that the Key issue was reported on the 19th. Today is 28 and still the problem is not resolved. That is almost 9 days after the problem was first reported. We can not even test the 2.0 release because the key does not work.

I have written similar emails before to Kayako and have begged them to realize the importance of their software in a company's infrastructure. The product is a great software and amazingly clean .. it works as advertised (except with IE 7) and does as one expects. Kayako can go a long way if they change the way they do business and develop their software.

I hope one day they can become as great a company as their product is.

Kayako's failure is no longer an option for us..

Key worked but no cigar for IE 7 - 29-09-2006, 01:15 PM

Thanks Neil..

The new built worked and the key was accepted. I installed it and upgraded all stations' live support ..

Just tested it with IE 7 and still does not work. I will post the findings in another post so this thread is not changed.
