knowledge base and download for staff - 06-04-2008, 01:42 PM

I noticed that even though my staff can have access to private knowledge base or download within the supporsuite but they can not view it as a visitor views it , when they click on it they can edit it .

to make a knowledge base and download page for my staff do I need to make another template group and restric access to them?

what is the best way to do so? how you guys do it?

unless your staff has access to create and edit KB articles they cannot view private ones. The only other way is to create a user group on a separate template and then create a new category that only that template can view.

is there a way to allow staff to view knowledge base articles but not edit them. I see you can restrict this functionality for downloads, but it doesn't look like you can do this for knowledge base?

nope, and same goes for news and troubleshooter. They can either have full access or no access
