Live Chat Departments - 23-08-2007, 08:08 PM

Recently I started using Support Suite again and upgraded to 3.11. The wierd problem that I am having is getting the department to be listed when I click on the live help online graphic. The problem is it comes up with no departments listed. I read on another thread someone having the same problem and fixed it simply buy restoring the templates to the originals. I have already done this and it has made now difference. I also cleared the cache and that made no difference. The oddity that I found however was when I changed the code to list all live chat departments and clicked on the Live Help Graphic the default live help department was selectable in the drop down list, but none of the other 5 were. The odd thing is when I change the live help department default to one of the other departments I can see whichever one I make default, but thats the wierd thing at any given time I can see only one. I have given myself access through user interface too.

So to be clear:

1. I am trying to get it to list all 6 live help departments but it is only listing one, the default one.
2. When I click on live help I only see 1 live chat department, the default one which ever that is as I have selected it in the admin section.
3. When I change the default department to another department that will show and the old default department will not.
4. I have cleared the caches and restored the templates and nothing helped.
5. I am wondering if there is some area or option that I have not enabled to make this happen, can anyone help?

The code I am inserting into the website is:

<!-- Begin SupportSuite Javascript Code -->
<script language=javascript src=evermorehelp.com/support/visitor/index.php?_m=livesupport&_a=htmlcode&departmentid= 0></script>
<!-- End SupportSuite Javascript Code -->

which should list all the departments but is only listing the default one.

These are all set as public LIVE HELP departments, they are not set as ticket departments or private departments.

BTW I REMOVED THE QUOTES AND HTTP FROM THE CODE SNIPPET ABOVE SO IT WOULD WORK IN THE FORUM.

Help please?

ok now that I have figured that out i have run accross a stranger error. The error is that when I use:

"<!-- Begin SupportSuite Javascript Code -->
<script language="javascript" src="http://evermorehelp.com/support/visitor/index.php?_m=livesupport&_a=htmlcode&departmentid= 52"></script>
<!-- End SupportSuite Javascript Code -->"

I add in &group=play2cover right after &departmentid=52

NOW the strange thing is that when I clear all cookies and data and open the page as tho I am first time visitor in IE it reverts to the DEFAULT template which displays the DEFAULT logo graphic.

HOWEVER when I open it up in Firefox as a first time visitor it displays the right play2cover template, works correctly, and displays the logo that I have modified for that template. Is this a bug? can it be fixed by updating to the latest CVS? Any help would be appreciated as it is very strange.

Try clearing your cache in IE.
