Question Login problem from PDA - 26-08-2007, 12:17 PM

Greetings,

I'm haveing problems loging in to the /PDA interface from a Windows Mobile 5 device.

It logs in Ok, and presents a page, but thereafter goes back to the login screen. I can login again, after which it sometimes goes the the selected page, sometimes to the main page again.

I've upgraded to 3.11.01 with the same result.

What am I doing wrong? All help appreciated!

Are you able to go to it via the web and try a login just to test?

Yes, the system logs in just fine from anywhere except the /pda interface.

No, I mean instead of visiting the /pda interface using your PDA, use your computer web browser. Does that log you in ok?

Appoligies, I should have been more specific.

The /pda interface gives the problem either from the PDA or from a normal PC. The /staff interface works fine from both.

Must be a setup issue, but I don't know enough about the system yet to figure out where to look.

I suggest you submit a ticket then so investigation can be performed as I just tested mine (same version as yours - latest) and it works fine. http://members.kayako.net -> "Get Support"

Sadly, support were less than helpfull. I don't think they believe the problem exists, though I can reproduce this on every Windows Mobile 5 PDA have tried.

They seem to think that it if did exist it would be a config problem, but I can't find any config options which are PDA specific.

Any clues anybody?

Hi grahame,

I am afraid I cannot come up with anything that may cause the problem. I can also say that I have tested it across a number of installs and browsers and all appear to be working.

Is the URL in Admin CP -> Settings set correctly, and does it have a trailing slash?

Yep. URL correct and trailing slash in place.

Still fails on every Windows Mobile 5 device I have tried, even ones straight out of the box.

Wanna create me a test staff account on your help desk so I can test it on mine? If so, PM me the URL, username and password.

Would be nice to get this bug pinned down if it is one.

Ok, I can confirm this problem exists for me too (WM5 and FF on XP).

Checked the settings as you created an admin account and found the cookie settings were not changed (as I thought it may be that). Also tried using PDA output compression set to no.

Deffo would appear to be a bug. Needs the developers to look over your install really.

If it was a bug, I imagine that it'd occur more frequently for other users. Please submit a support ticket about the issue (via your member's area) with your login details. Then, please post the ticket ID here and I'll be able to take a look myself and perform some cookie diagnostics to help our support staff.
