The title says it all. Im sick to death of having to babysit Kayako, day in day out because of the loginshare issues.

Lets see, how many years has this been a problem now? About 2. Still not fixed.

I am sick to death of having to login to Kayako as a staff member to delete a user when they update their email address and or password in AWBS

I am sick to death of BEING TOLD BY KAYAKO that i should contact the 3rd party author about the problem and visa versa, being told by the 3rd party deverlopers that its a Kayako problem.

I am sick to death of the HE SAYS SHE SAYS scenerio. Its not us, its them. Its not us its Kayako.

... and im sure i will be sick to death of having to login to Kayako as a staff member to delete a user when they update their email address and or password in WHMCS when its finally released as stable.

Basically, i am sick to death of Kayako, the company, its lousy support and their inability to fix obvious issues (after 2yrs) with Loginshare, on my monthly payment of the software.

I'v made up my mind though, im moving to Cerberus. At least we dont have to deal with this **** of users being unable to login to submit support tickets. At least i can integrate it into my applications without users screaming at us about being unable to submit tickets because they updated their passwords or email addresses in the above modules and Kayako cannot handle or let me say DOES NOT PROVIDE the ability to update a user in Kayako when updated in the application its linked from. How pathetic is that? What kind of programmer provides for a function that can be added to but does not provide the ability to update an existing db record if its change? Give me a break.

Because LoginShares note down the ID, they are supposed to add the email address as a second address for that account when the user tries to login again. Is this not happening for you?

If you have been tossed back and forth like that, I can understand you feeling the need to rant - but no one here will be able to extract anything useful from it. If you take a moment to explain clearly what you did, what should happen and what actually happened then we'll be able to assist you with the problem.

I'm with you Mikie! Although, my experience is when a user changes his email in AWBS, osCommerce, CS-cart, or any loginshares that I tested, the user can still login but the any response you send that user goes to the old email address. He'll just think you never answered!

CS-Cart is open source so, as a last resort, I went in and coded it so that when a user changes his email address in CS-Cart, the cart would send me an email with the new address. That way I could at least go in an manually fix Kayako. You can't do that with encrypted applications like AWBS, though.

Kayako support came back and told me that this couldn't be fixed. And some Kayako cheerleader came back and told me how much work that would be for Kayako and blah blah blah... boo hoo hoo.

We will probably stop offering Kayako integrations. When a client comes to us asking about a Kayako integration he is definately informed about this bug. This is because in the past (the few clients that notice this bug) think it's our integrations fault. Because of this, most of our (perspective) Kayako integration clients have opted against Kayako. I hate this because we lose business, Kayako loses sales, nobody wins.

It happens this way to every application that has a loginshare module. Ask AWBS about that and they will confirm it. As James from eplanetdesign.com. Ask anyone whos runs any application that relies on Loginshare.

You are not the only one waiting for Kayako to fix long standing LoginShare issues.
The LDAP Active Directory authentication does not work on 3.11 so I had to revert to 3.10. The ticket has been open for months and even after troubleshooting with Kayako they just drop it.

THe same is happening with the Chat client problems and Sessions Expiring on the LiveSupport.

You can see all the posts and desperation of users. We can only hope they get more man powell or knowledgeable people.

Can you link me to your bug report about it? AFAIK absolutely nothing changed in the source of that LoginShare plugin.

As far as other LoginShare issues go, I need to clarify that the LoginShare was supposed to emulate the default support center login scheme i.e. the user logs in using his email and sees all tickets specific to that email address unless he is tagged as Manager (Which shows all ticket in the given group).

I have made a patch for ModernBill v4 LoginShare and v5 LoginShare which should add the new email address under the old user.

Mikie, if the added patches dont work then please follow this up over with me via email and I will get this implemented for you.

The code that does the trick is below:

We need the functions that handle AWBS, email address changes in AWBS to be updated in Kayako when a user changes their email address and or password. This is our biggest issue since we rely on it for billing purposes. Users are always forgetting their passwords and request a new one. When they change their passwords and click on HELPDESK they can no longer login. This is also true when users change their email address in AWBS.

Please provide patches to the awbs functions so we can test this out.

Iono licensing too.
