lost and found from 3.10.02 to 3.11.00 - 06-08-2007, 09:36 AM

I have testet the upgrade and found that the things I really found helpful in the new stable version is that when you log out from a department you will stay in that specific department instead of going back to the default as you did in the 3.10.02 version.

But that is it...

I also found things that does not work in the new stable version 3.11.00:
When editing a template and choosing save & Reload it only reloads but does not save.
Another issue is that I am not able to delete a download category at all.

I need theese features and it doesn't seem like it is being fixed right now, so are there anyone who knows how to only fix the log out issue where you are beeing transfered to the default department instead of the one you are logged into?

Good to know these will be fixed quickly. I spotted the delete category problem too...

Wow - that sounds really cool (then I just hold my horses) - Are there any other stuff being fixed (maybe issues reported by others than my self? - just curious...

Will it be public announced or do we have to keep an eye on the members-area?

A new stable build? Would you be able to list which issues will be addressed in this release?

There will be two issues addressed here - JavaScript alerts not working for some people in some areas of SupportSuite and the cookie login issue (where cookie data is used even when a new e-mail and password is entered into the login form).

Ah great. How come these were not picked up by the quality assurance team by the way?

I guess that the testers team did not pick up on the error due to it being caused by a late change. The JavaScript problem identified was due a change made quite late on, and was an oversight in how JavaScript is handled in some areas of SupportSuite.

As for the client login issue, this obviously was not picked up by the testers team due to the problem being fairly circumstantial, but it also brought to light a design flaw in the login system that caused the 'bug' which has now been corrected.

When you say "testing team", are you meaning the customer based one (ie the one I am a part of)? I thought I read there was an internal one too (Quality Assurance Team I think you said).

No, there isn't a Quality Assurance team as such but myself and the our US staff (as well as standard testing by Mahesh etc.) rigorously check bugs and test the builds.

I also notice that when you log out of SC, the page does not revert back to the default template group which is causing an issue for me. To explain more:

1. Log into SC using a registered group that has "restricted access" set to "on" such that only members of that registered group can login.
2. Log out
3. Notice that you have successfully logged out but that you are still using the registered group template instead of the default guest template.
4. Try logging into another registered group using different email/password
5. You will get access denied error.

Wait, which stable version are we talking about 3.11.01? or is there a 3.11.02 stable coming out in the next few days?
