Merge 2 supportsuite databases. Is it possible? - 15-11-2007, 07:33 AM

Hi Everybody

Is it possible to merge 2 supportsuite databases? Tickets, Knowledgedatase entries are the most important ones.

Best Regards
Sebastian Kim Morsony

Really an Impex needs to be made for V3 and then you could just use that.

That would only work if the import system doesn't clear out the current database first. Having never done an import I am unsure if it does.

So the Kayako teams should be able to help with this Impex or?

Hi sebastian,

I am afraid there is no Impex script that allows you to merge two databases, nor will we be able to do that for you.

Thanks a lot for your answer. Not that it's the answer I was hopeing for, but know I can stop thinking about merging the 2 databases.

Don't you think it would be a good idea to make one Jamie?

Well if they are doing it in the end, thats fine. Just saying it needs to be done at some point rather than not at all. It is handy if two companies that use the software merge for example.

I dont suppose you can ever write off anything with Kayako unless they specifically mention it. They have improved in leaps and bounds.

I'm not so sure about that...this seemed pretty final:

If, in the future, I'd decided to merge my two desks (one is my main, and the other an "emergency" desk), it would be nice to be able to have everything in one..but if they won't, they won't.

What I am asking is "why?". I like to have reasoning behind things.
