Modernbill 5 Login Share - 10-09-2006, 04:38 AM

I am wondering if login share will work for ModernBill 5. I have searched the forums, and understand that full client area integration is still not done. I could live with using the Kayako frontend for support as long as the user could use the same login info.

This is the only thing holding me back from purchasing Kayako right now.

Thanks

Hi,

Currently there is no login share module for ModernBill v5.

As an experienced php coder, I wouldn't think would be hard to fix. Without know how the login share works, I would assume it is just doing a few db queries to verify user data.

Second question. If I purchase Kayako, is the loginshare files encoded?

If you buy the owned version, the loginshare-files is not encrypted.

You can request the unencrypted loginshare files from Kayako support. They will provide it to you even if you are on leased license.

Nope
Unfortunately, it's not that simple. According to MB, the only way to ensure that a password is correct now is using their API system, which is a messy way to do stuff.

Hi,

Kayako are stll waiting on ModernBill sending the documentation over that Michael was/is preparing once 5.1 of ModernBill is out (stable).

Can someone please post an update on this topic? Surely an ETA exists by now?

MB 5.x now has ability to migrate PayPal (which was on of the things that was preventing us from upgrading due to some PayPal customers).

Unfortunately, we are now still held up by lack of login share ability.

I would like to know what is being done and when we can expect the ability. Is the API still holding you up or is this a problem with poor coding of the login share feature?

5.1 was just announced as stable today. One post above yours states that MB is sending over documentation after 5.1 was released as stable. It will then take time to actually code the module.

Since it's been only a few hours, it's not unlikely that Kayako hasn't even seen the documentation yet.

I find it strange that the documentation would not have been available before hand (especially considering that the STABLE was released) and the documentation was mentioned nearly a month ago.

We still havent received any documentation on the newly introduced Action Hooks which will allow us to complete the MB v5 integration.

I will be sending a reminder email to Michael shortly and post an update on our blog as soon as we receive it.

Regards,

Im under pressure to drop kayako (even thought it may not be your fault) if its not sorted in the next week or so.
