Question No Email Notifications when new ticket submitted. - 08-04-2006, 03:21 AM

Hello,

I do not get Email Notifications when a new ticket is submitted.

I have searched this issue on the forums but the answers don't weem to work.

I have created Alerts (even staff department level in StaffCP) but it does not work.

Any Ideas?

Shane

Do you get any other e-mails from your install?

Only Emails GOTO people who submit tickets - 04-09-2006, 05:48 PM

The only emails sent are the autoresponders to the people submitting the ticket.

No Notifications are recieved. Nor any errors.

Try switching to SMTP under -- Admin CP > Settings > CPU Optimization & Server Settings > Enable SMTP

Check if that fixes the issue.

SMTP setting a NO go - 05-09-2006, 07:29 PM

I have enabled SMTP but it was a no go. I also tried it using SMTP Authentication and it did not work.

I seems like the emails are not going to the email account associated with the SupportSuite.

Do you think it could be a folder/file permissions issue - rather than a CRON issue?

Here are all the Versions of CRON I have tried. But none have worked:

* * * * * GET http://www.website.com/supportsuite/....php?_t=parser

EMAIL MESSAGE: "Total Messages in Inbox: 0<br>0 Total Messages<br>Rejected Messages: 0<br>Accepted Messages: 0"

* * * * * GET http://www.website.com/supportsuite/cron/index.php

EMAIL MESSAGE: 'GIF89a  € ÿÿÿ !ù ,   D ;'

EMAIL MESSAGE: 'GIF89a€ÿÿÿ!ù,D;Total Messages in Inbox: 0<br>Total Messages in Inbox: 0<br>0 Total Messages<br>Rejected Messages: 0<br>Accepted Messages: 0'

* * * * * GET http://www.website.com/supportsuite/cron/index.php > /dev/null

5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50,55,0 * * * * GET http://www.website.com/supportsuite/....php?_t=parser > /dev/null

* * * * * lynx --dump http://www.website.com/supportsuite/cron/index.php > /dev/null

I have exactly the same problem - I'd be very interested to know if you find a solution.

No Email Being Created... - 06-09-2006, 04:54 PM

Hmm,

Well i think I have found the problem.

The email that is supposed to be sent to the support email address is not even created in the first place.

I have created test tickets and watched the support email account through webmail. The notification of the ticket was never created.

So the question now becomes: " WHY ISN"T THE SUPPORT NOTIFICATION EMAIL BEING CREATED? "

Are you using cpanel? and have you setup the appropriate pipes?

Yes CPANEL - 06-09-2006, 06:53 PM

Yes, I am using CPANEL.

And I have setup the (support@website.com) Mail Queue Fetch Type as both 'PIPE' and 'POP3' but neither makes a difference.

No Email Notification is sent to the support email account.

I am sure that CRON is no longer the problem - but I could be wrong. Does the CRON create the email notification too?

Cron just executes the script...

What I'd do is set an alert that emails me everything about everything, then mess asround with some tickets for a bit. If you get no emails still then, that makes it interesting. If you do get emails, it sounds like you are setting up the alert rules incorrectly.

If autoresponders are being generated, I doubt this is anything to do with Cron or your mailer settings.
