No Validation Email...But All Other Emails Work!

Weird stuff. New users are not receiving validation emails. But all other emails get sent successfully including the "forgot password" email and replies to tickets.

It is only the validation emails not being sent.
This DID work before. It appears to have "broken" around mid-May.

Using Server 2003 with Exchange.

Any ideas what could be happening?
And no, there's not going to Junk Mail folders.
Do validation emails go out immediately or with cron jobs?

I figured out the problem. I noticed an "undefined" error on Admin menu's and I deleted everything in the /cache folder as suggested here: "undefined" submenu on several staff menu items

It also fixed the validation emails that were not being sent out.

I think I will create a batch file that automatically deletes all cache files every 24 hours or so. Thoughts?

If you are facing the problem with cache, for you it will be a good solution.
But usually one could face problems with cache if something has been changed with the code or templates.
