Non-registered users submitting tickets - 09-02-2006, 09:09 PM

Hello:

I thought you could restrict K3 so that no unregistered users could submit any tickets....

but I can't seem to do that now. I want to have public departments, so they show up in the support center, but I only want registered users, who are logged in to be able to submit any ticket.

Can you do this?

Hi,
Yes, you can do this. You can manually allow the users to submit the tickets. You can do this as under:
Admin CP> Settings> User registration> Enable Manual Staff Verification

Hello:

thanks for the reply, but I don't think this is it.

What I have is a company with say 30 people in it.
Of that 30, 10 are "Staff". All the rest are registered Users.

What I want to stop is some anonymous user coming into my SupportCenter and submitting a ticket.

I only want registered Users to be able to submit a ticket, after they login.

I don't see a way to _stop_ non-logged in people from submitting a ticket to any Public Department.

You will need to go into the department and disable that. Login to your Staff CP at this URL:

http://yourdomain.com/support/staff/

Then click the Users Tab, and then Manage Groups.

You should see a group called guest. Click the Group Title for Guest.

You should see a setting that says PERMISSIONS: Tickets
|__ Under there you should see the setting: Can Submit Ticket?
|__ Set that to No.

That should fix your issue.

May you live a thousand years.

That is exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks a lot.
