Angry One of the most heinous issues that MUST be fixed - 07-09-2006, 04:41 PM

Okay folks, I'm a little peeved as you cause me embarrassment with my customers, as just now!

I get an e-mail of a ticket, I click the footer information, the URL, and submit my response.

Well, the problem is...THAT FOOTER INFO is not correct for the ticket body! I sent a long winded response to yet another ticket which threw that customer for a loop.

Yes Varun, you very much know about this issue, it is a major bug, it has been reported, it has been an issue forever, it MUST be fixed in the next release!!!!!!

The issue as you know is with POP3. I'm using the wget on Windows 2003 to connect to my POP3 mail server and you acknowledged this issue. Now tell me WHEN will this be resolved so those that see and use these footer bits of info do not do their job incorrectly or show something to someone (i.e. porn, spam, whatever) that they should not be seeing!

I look forward from YOUR response VARUN!

3.0.90, this has been an issue ever since I started using Kayako, something around the 3.0.28. I believe it has been an issue since version 3 was released with POP3 integration.

Hi Neal,

I remember confirming the issue in the bug tracker, I was just talking to Varun and he thought he may have fixed it in the CVS builds - i'm about to install the latest CVS for testing this and other issues.

Thanks Neil! I've been careful about checking the ticket content, but it bit me good yesterday, it really needs to get fixed! I look forward to the next production release.

Hi Neal,

It has not been fixed however I with my test I pulled in 6 emails at the same time, all the alerts sent to my email showed the correct subject but all had the content of the last ticket to be entered into the system.

I have advised Varun and we will be testing fixes shortly.

Neil,

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It MUST work ALL of the time!

Thank you.

Hi Neal,

I bet the times it works is when only one ticket or reply is pulled in. From my testing everytime there is more than one item it always shows the last items to be processed in the content of the notification.

Thank you for testing and troubleshooting Neil! It sounds like you and Varun have a good grip on the problem, now awaiting the resolution in the next production release.

Hi Neal,

No problem, I had confirmed the issue originally for some reason it had been overlooked when the critical issues have been getting fixed.

I hadn't realised back then that it was every alert had the very last ticket details, I just thought it was every other ticket but now I have done some more testing mainly to check if it had been fixed in CVS I see the problem and have told Varun exactly what is happening.

Thanks Neil! I see 3.04 has been published as stable. I thought 3.1 was next up, well, I'll get 3.04 installed now that I know it's stable. Thanks for the hard work of all involved.

Hi Neal,

Not sure where Varun is going with the version numbers, I don't think things are quire ready for the 3.1 jump (would be nice to see all current open issues in the bug tracker resolved before the 3.1 jump).

The 3.1 build will contain a lot of new features that haven't yet been implemented.

The 3.04.10 build is mostly bug fixes and small feature additions.

I wouldn't be surprised if 3.1 is a few months out still.
