Outgoing Email Parser Problem - takes 1 hour or more to fetch email - 12-02-2007, 07:04 PM

I am a new kayako user. I bought SupportSuite the end of last month with installation service. Kayako team only uploaded files on my window server 2003. I had to install software myself the end of last week as kayako team took way too long to get start the installation.

I use POP3 for my email parser and set scheduled task on server (execute Wget) to run every 5 mins. There is no problem with outgoing email and incoming email when i send email through my support site. When i send email from 3rd party client (not from my kayako support site), it took more than an hour or i wont get it all until I refresh scheduled tasks > manage > run POP3/IMAP fetching from CP.

Any advice or suggestion from kayako team or kayako users would be appreciated.

We have had no such issues for installation carried for our clients. I would suggest you re-check your WGET settings used in the Task Scheduler. From what it seems, it does not get executed.

Thank you SupportSkins.

I have checked the wget set up and right click "run" from the control panel to test whether it is executed. it does nothing.

Here how i set my wget to run on schedule task.
task
run: C:\wget\wget.exe -q -O nul "https://support.domain.com/cron/index.php?_t=parser"
start in: C:\wget
enabled (scheduled task runs at specified time)
Schedule
daily, start time 12.00am, every 1 day
Advanced Scheduled Options
Repeat task every 5 mins
until duration: 24 hours

I follow kayako manual step by step of how to set up Email parser in window server but still cannot make it executed.

Check your permissions. Does the user account that the scheduled task is executed under have appropriate permissions to the wget folder, wget program, php folder, php program, temp folder, sessions folder, etc...

Next run the parser command in your web browser. If that does not work, check the same permissions for the user account that the web site runs under in IIS.

Regards,

Eddie

Thank you for the advice NetFusion. I have an administrator account so i have all permissions.

There is no problem when I run the parser command on my browser at https://support.domain.com/cron/index.php?_t=parser

Every time when I refresh this URL, email parser executes and fetches email to my kayako.

If I don’t run the parser command on my browser, it takes 1 hour or more to execute.

Here is my execution task logs time for POP3/IMAP fetching from last night till now.
11.20pm
12.35pm
1.37pm
7.04am
9.24am

oh I just noticed that my title for this thread is wrong . It supposes to be "Incoming" Email Parser problem, not outgoing email. Sorry
