Parsing HTML emails shows STYLE tag code in post - 10-09-2007, 05:31 AM

Hi all,

I run support suite 3.11.00 and have the following settings for parsing emails;

Email Content Priority: Text (have tried HTML)
Strip <SCRIPT> Tags: Yes (have tried NO)
Allow HTML Tags: Yes (have tried NO)
Valid HTML Tags: <a><b><i><u><font><hr><strong><STYLE><HEAD>

Rich text emails seem okay, just these HTML ones (possibly using word as an editor - but changes throughout the organisation).

An example of what is shown at the beginning of the post is;

Quote:
@font-face {
font-family: Tahoma;
}
@font-face {
font-family: Verdana;
}
@page Section1 {size: 595.3pt 841.9pt; margin: 72.0pt 90.0pt 72.0pt 90.0pt; }
P.MsoNormal {
FONT-SIZE: 12pt; MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; FONT-FAMILY: "Times New Roman"
}
LI.MsoNormal {
FONT-SIZE: 12pt; MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; FONT-FAMILY: "Times New Roman"
}
DIV.MsoNormal {
FONT-SIZE: 12pt; MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; FONT-FAMILY: "Times New Roman"
}
A:link {
COLOR: blue; TEXT-DECORATION: underline
}
SPAN.MsoHyperlink {
COLOR: blue; TEXT-DECORATION: underline
}
A:visited {
COLOR: purple; TEXT-DECORATION: underline
}
SPAN.MsoHyperlinkFollowed {
COLOR: purple; TEXT-DECORATION: underline
}
SPAN.EmailStyle17 {
COLOR: windowtext; FONT-FAMILY: Arial; mso-style-type: personal
}
SPAN.EmailStyle20 {
COLOR: navy; FONT-FAMILY: Arial; mso-style-type: personal-reply
}
DIV.Section1 {
page: Section1
}

Sounds like a bug to me. I'd contact support first (http://members.kayako.net -> "Get Support") and have them investigate it. They will pass it across to the developers if it is a bug rather than just a configuration issue.

It's possible, since that's style info, that leaving "<STYLE>" as enabled in the "allow tags" function is printing the contents of that tag block. Have you tried with that particular allowed tag removed?

Hi bear. By default it's not in there so I added it to see if it made a difference (sorry, should have specified that).
