Password field is prefilled - 08-11-2007, 05:59 PM

Just got the latest version running locally on Xampp.

Whenever I'm logged into Admin or Staff and I do any function where the password field is on the form. it is prefilled with My current password.

So for example i go to "Insert Staff", im logged in as "act1v" (admin)

The new staff user form has the username prefilled as well as the password.

See screenshot.

Any ideas????

Are you using Firefox or Opera? I believe it is password history in the browser interfering there and spotting a password form.

It was FF and that was the issue. I however don't think that the form should be prefilled on "Insert Staff"...I use other web apps and click Remember me and in those admin panels when I create accounts it doesn't prefill them.

there is no way to code around this issue?

Ps. Thanks for the tip!

Nah, you can't code around FireFox' in-built password saving.

Go Tools -> Options -> Security -> Show Passwords and delete the one for your helpdesk and it won't do it again.

My point being, i use other apps like X-cart, and can login to their admin and save my admin user/pass, then create a new customer account, and it doesnt prefill the username/password form.

It this because the form fieldnames are the same?

oh right, I see your point. Yea, the field name needs to be changed to like addusername and addpassword so it doesn't pre-fill them.

I just assumed you had been asked to save the password when adding a new user and it kept appearing from then on rather than it putting in the ones you saved for login.
