Ah your most welcome. To be honest, it drove me near mad for a day or so trying to figure out a way around the security problems so I was sure it would probably help someone if I posted the code somewhere sensible.

Glad I could help.

the cause of the error is when you access a remote php file in a different domain other than the domain where XMLHttpRequest is called..

Your XMLHttpRequest must be with the same domain of the PHP file when request is called..

Well, no. Thats the whole point of my post with the answer to this problem.

You can make requests to any domain and any server via a proxy script running on your server. The problem only lies with the security context of the browser - not the server.

Maybe re-examine my posts in this thread.

This is crazy. Getting the same issue when trying to insert pre-defined replies (XMLhttp failed to execute because the domain isn't the same in admin cp > general settings). It is the same. Exactly the same.

Doesn't matter whether it's IE or FF (prefer to use IE in Avant Browser), the same error comes up.

I've added my own domain (with https) to my trusted sites, cleared temp internet files and it still persists. What's with this in kayako. Don't have this AJAX problem with other sites at all.

Runing 3.4.10.

Anyone have a step by step solution? Would be really appreciated. Thanks

My wife's PC. Exactly the same setup as mine, the pre-defined replies etc work with no problems. AAAARGH.

Oh, the only difference is that she didn't have to do the bits about adding my site to the allowed sites list and deleting temp files. It just worked. ?

ok....now I give up. It just worked.....for no reason.

I guess, in a few hours time, when I need it, it will mysteriously not work again.
