Nice one Jamie. Good to know we can change the team's decision!

When are things going to PHP 5? Did I miss something? My VPS is running 4 and pretty much I have to until I migrate to a new VPS which I need to do but its going to be a crazy process.

The announcement and details are posted here: Change to minimum server requirements: PHP 5.1.0 is now required

I am sorry for the inconvenience, but we are now at the stage where continuing to code for PHP4 and to the PHP4 standard will be really detrimental to the quality of the code and the product. PHP4 has already passed its end of life, and it is time for us to keep up with this progress.

Developers and Web Hosts are in a situation where neither really wants to break things. If developers update their software, customers may not be able to run it anymore on their hosting and if web hosts update their PHP, some software may not work for customers.

The above cycle needs to be broken and the only way to do so is to make decisions like this.

Anyway, we need to get ready for PHP6 and FULL unicode support!

The decision hasn't been changed, and as with anything we receive feedback and consider it - which is what we're doing here
